When we tell other people or ourselves never to give up on something, it’s usually easier said than done. Most of the time, we only do this when we’ve got nothing to lose. However, when we give our all to achieve something, sometimes we get rewarded, and when that happens, it can be one of the best feelings in the world.
Take the case of Sammi and his dog mom, for example. The Springer Spaniel was just like any other dog when he was younger. He loved running around the house, chasing squirrels in the yard, and playing fetch. Unfortunately, fate had a cruel twist for this cute little pup, and it truly tested his human’s faith.
When he reached eight years old, veterinarians found out that a bone started growing inside his spinal column. Later on, he started losing control of his limbs, and he couldn’t even lift his head up. His dog mom, Janie, was simply shocked beyond belief. Luckily for Sammi, his mom is not a quitter.
Janie sought help from the California Animal Rehabilitation Center. The facility based in Santa Monica took Sammi’s case and work with the pup every single day. Janie was not too optimistic about the result. But she was hoping that somehow her fur baby would regain some mobility, even just a little bit.
The center’s vets and staff work with Sammi for three full months. It was not easy to try to teach a quadriplegic pooch to walk again. But they made it their personal mission. They understood what it would mean to Sammi’s family if they get the pup walking again.
When Janie visited her baby to check up on his progress, she was surprised by what she saw. Before she got to the office, she saw Sammi running across the hallway as if nothing terrible happened to him. This caused Janie to drop what she was holding and cry tears of joy. See the adorable surprise in the video below.
