Paw Squadron, a charitable institution in The Balkans, received an urgent call about a puppy that was found alone by the riverbanks. It was extremely dangerous for the little guy to be out on his own so the rescuers wasted no time. They drove for more than 60 miles and quickly went to work as soon as they reached their destination.
The current was strong and the wind constantly blew. No small animal would survive in such a precarious environment. It was crucial to find the puppy right away or it might be too late to save him.
The rescuers scoured the entire area for several minutes. They followed the tracks the puppy left behind but searching for a little puppy in a vast land proved more difficult than it seemed. But after a while, they found him hiding in the bush.
The puppy was so scared that he did not want to step out of his hiding spot. He tried to avoid the rescuers but he had nowhere to go. He trembled as they scooped him up but he relaxed almost instantly when he realized he was in safe hands.
Before heading back home, the rescuers gave the puppy some food. They were happy he finished his meal but they were also abhorred knowing he starved for who knew how long.
All seemed well but the puppy, now River, suddenly threw up on their way home so they stopped at the vet’s clinic for medical evaluation. The rescuers assumed something was wrong with his tummy, but thankfully, all he needed was some pills and he was set to go home.
The 2.5-month-old puppy enjoyed a much-needed bath once he was home. He felt refreshed and he liked being clean. Perhaps, it was his first bath ever since he came into this world.
River is now under the care of his rescuers and he is doing great. He is warm, safe, and happy, but there’s one more thing he wishes to find – a home. Make him a part of your beautiful family and contact Paw Squadron now.
