It’s sad to see stray dogs fending on their own. It’s even sadder if the stray dog is a mother with puppies. Fortunately, a lot of strays get rescued. Fortunately, so many organizations and individuals help strays.
One day some hikers spotted a mother dog at a creek. The dog was giving birth to her puppies. She was a malnourished dog who is timid and doesn’t trust people easily. A man named Thom McCallum decided to foster that dog and her three puppies.
Thom spent the first day getting to know each of the dogs. He named the mother dog Ruby. Thom believes that Ruby is an incredible mother.
The puppies needed a lot of sleep. When they were resting, it was an opportunity for Thom to bond with Ruby and get to know her more. Although Ruby is still a bit reserved, she trusts Thom a lot.
After twenty days of fostering, Ruby’s puppies were already running around. Thom likes to place the little puppies inside a wagon and go on walks with Ruby. After that, they all play at Thom’s backyard. Ruby loves playing outside.
After more than two months of being in Thom’s care, the puppies have finally gotten adopted. The first puppy that got adopted was named Jax, and he lives a couple of miles away from Thom.
Another puppy named Kirby got adopted by a wonderful family. The last puppy to be adopted was Tito. He lived next door. Thom’s neighbor adopted him.
Ruby is staying with Thom for the rest of her life. Thom officially adopted her. Since Tito is close by, he turned his back fence into a gate, so Ruby has easy access to see her son. It’s a wonderful arrangement for the dogs and the neighbors.
