Captain was a 115-pound Great Pyrenees surrendered to a local animal shelter. He had lots of love to give and lots of energy to spend playing outside. However, Captain had always been returned every time probably because he was too much – too big and too energetic.
The first time that he got an opportunity to get adopted, the adoption did not go through. On the second time around, he was returned after three months. But the volunteers never gave up on him and they knew that it just had to be a special person who would adopt Captain.
One day, they got a very promising application from a couple named Bruce and Bridgitte. They had acres of land that Captain would surely love to explore and spend his energy on. According to Bruce, he saw a video of Captain and it was just like an instant attachment. Aside from that, they also owned a miniature dachshund named Guinnie who was getting lonely which was why they looked into expanding their family.
When Bruce first saw Captain enter the courtyard, his eyes instantly lit up. He even crawled down beside him and played with him. Captain was a very affectionate dog and Bridgitte cannot understand how he always got returned. And at the end of their meeting, Bruce was already sure that Captain was going to be his retirement buddy.
But Guinnie was the ultimate decision so if she didn’t like him then the deal was off. Thankfully, the two got along so well when they were introduced to each other. And after that, Captain officially got adopted and the volunteers were so happy because finally, their hard work paid off. Now, Captain belonged to a home that will love him unconditionally.
