French Bulldogs are becoming very popular as pets, and the high demand has made them frequent targets for thieves. There has been a lot of news of these dognappings, and it has become a great concern for owners of this particular breed.
These adorable little dogs are sold for high prices because of the demand. However, a man from Los Angeles didn’t mind selling a French Bulldog for a very low price. Maybe it’s because he wanted to get rid of the pooch right away. Either way, his criminal act was caught on camera, and he was arrested within 24 hours.
Thankfully, the stolen dog was found unharmed and returned to his worried owners.
Stolen pup
Jodie Martinez is a resident of a small neighborhood in Los Angeles. She owns a young Fench Bulldog named King. One day, someone in their home accidentally left their front door slightly open. King was able to slip outside and play in their fenced-in yard.
Soon after, Jodie’s kids wondered where their beloved pet was. They looked around the house and in their yard, but he was gone. They decided to check their home security cameras.
They saw King going outside, and shortly after, a man wearing a cap walked by and stopped. He saw the little pooch and went near the fence. After checking if there were any people around, he reached in and scooped the dog up. The thief, with King in hand, ran away.
Home Depot
Thanks to the security footage, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were able to identify the man and arrest him. According to the suspect, he went to a Home Depot nearby and sold King for 20 dollars. He didn’t know the people who bought the pup.
Jodie and her family feared that they might never see their pet again. But after posting their story on social media, the buyers got in touch with them and returned King. They were relieved and grateful that their dog was returned safely.
