When the world transitioned to the community quarantine life due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the first people to get affected are the homeless. The reason for this is that this group of people does not have the safety nets most people enjoy. But homeless people are not the only ones affected by the pandemic. Stray dogs in different parts of the world similarly got hit by this dilemma.
This is why Arjun Gopi, a resident of Changanacherry, decided to hit the road on April 13 to feed a pack of stray dogs near his home. But after showing kindness to the dogs near his place, Arjun realized that more dogs need his help. The food that he gives to the dogs he encounters is biscuits because the same is readily available during the crisis.
After realizing that there are more hungry dogs out there, Arjun decided to travel at least 20 kilometers every night to visit different places in feed dogs. As he goes to different places, Arjun brings with him a bag full of biscuits. As of posting, Arjun said that he had not taken a night’s break because he knows that no one is feeding the dogs.
Arjun admitted that he was not that of a diehard animal lover. He added that he did not even care about the strays before the community lockdown. However, when he saw a stray pooch begging for food, he took a big turn and began helping dogs.
The man said that he would continue to help the dogs on the road though he only has a little money. Arjun said that each time he shares whatever he has to the dogs, his happiness exceeds. Despite the tiring travel every day, the man will continue with his advocacy until he could.
