Lucy Clydesdale is a beautician from Stockton-on-Tees, England who went to Turkey with her friends for a vacation. She and her girlfriends stayed at the Tropicana Beach Hotel spending many of their days lounging by the stunning ocean when they were not walking around soaking the culture in.
They saw a lot of stray dogs wandering around. Some were friendly and would walk up to them hoping to get some scraps. Some would even be brave enough to follow them back to their hotel. But one dog stood above the rest and ventured even further.
That stray dog followed her back to her room.
Vacation buddy
During her entire stay in Turkey, the dog followed her everywhere. If the canine wasn’t allowed inside an establishment, she would faithfully wait outside until Lucy and her friends come out. The English lady grew fond of the stray dog and started calling her Jessie.
The staff working at the hotel where she stayed noticed the bond that was starting to grow between the two. They told the tourist that they have never seen anything like it. One tourist even suggested that she adopt the homeless pooch and told Lucy about a local rescue group that could help her take Jessie home with her.
Taking Jessie to the UK
Lucy immediately got in touch with the group, and one of their administrators agreed to meet her. They talked about the adoption process and the need to have Jessie quarantined first.
They found a foster home that was willing to take the stray pooch in while her papers were being processed. In the meantime, Lucy had to go home.
Jessie’s foster family is constantly in touch with Lucy and regularly sends her pictures and gives updates about their application. The beautician is very excited about her dog coming home soon and has made all the necessary preparations to give her a good home. Soon, she and her vacation buddy will be together again.
