Stray Dog That Lived In A Church Parking Lot Is Now So Happy After Getting Rescued

It takes patience to catch a stray dog and bring it to safety. These dogs don’t really trust humans since many of them haven’t interacted with people before. Some have also experienced abuse from people before that they tend to associate humans with pain.

A stray dog named Dixie was found wandering the church parking lot by a man named Danny. When Danny found out that Dixie had been living in the church parking lot for about three years, he decided to do something about it by trying to rescue Dixie and finding her a forever home.

Danny started feeding Dixie with pieces of hot dogs, which Dixie happily took. At one point, Dixie even ate out of Danny’s hand. Danny thought that it would be an easy rescue since Dixie trusted him enough to eat out of his hands. However, Danny was proven wrong when Dixie started to distance herself from him when he returned to feed her some more hotdogs.

As days went by, Danny soon realized that Dixie became even more distant and even refused to come near him even when he gave Dixie some treats. It proved to be quite challenging for Danny to rescue Dixie. When Danny got too close, Dixie would cross the street and go inside a fenced-in property and sit on a field.

There was no way to get inside the property but Danny saw that another rescue organization was attempting to catch Dixie with humane traps. Danny was glad that there was another rescue organization that cared enough for Dixie who attempted rescuing her. The rescue organization also set up cameras around the trap to see if Dixie would take the bait.

The recording showed that Dixie did get near the trap trying to investigate. One day, the video showed that Dixie did go inside the trap and she was successfully trapped and finally safe. Eventually, Dixie was turned over to a foster home where she gets plenty of love from her foster family.

The videos from Dixie’s foster family showed that Dixie is happy and comfortable in her foster home. The family also indicated that they aren’t in a hurry to find a forever home for Dixie. After three years of living as a stray, Dixie is finally safe and happy in her foster home. Here’s a heartwarming video showing Dixie’s rescue.
