Stray Dog That Had Severely Matted Fur Gets Rescued And Felt So Good After Getting A Haircut And A Bath

One of the reasons why stray dogs are afraid of humans is that they’ve previously experienced abuse or mistreatment from humans. This makes it that much harder for rescuers to save these dogs. Stray dogs tend to run away when people go near them regardless if these people came to rescue them. However, the amazing thing about dogs is that they also learn that humans aren’t all that bad once they are treated kindly.

When rescuers from Hope For Paws received a call about a stray dog wandering in a neighborhood in California, they immediately went into action. The rescuers knew that rescuing stray dogs can be challenging and even dangerous since they don’t trust humans and they also tend to run away. However, the rescuers were determined to get the stray dog off the street. It was quite easy for the rescuers to spot the stray dog since she was laying down on the sidewalk. After taking a closer look, the rescuers saw that the dog was quite dirty and was also covered in matted fur.

The rescuers also realized that the dog was wandering dangerously close to the road and startling the dog can cause it to run to the middle of the road which can be very dangerous. The rescuers were right on the money when they started to rescue the dog. Wanting to get away from the people, the dog stood up and tried crossing the road where a speeding vehicle almost ran her over. After a couple of hours of rescue attempts, the rescuers succeeded in putting a leash on her. The rescuers took the dog back to their facility where they groomed her and bathed her.

The rescuers shaved off all of the matted furs and gave the dog her first bath in a long time. The dog was clearly relieved to have all that matted fur off her body and she also started to wag her tail after getting a bath. The dog was happier and she instantly showed her sweet and loving personality by giving puppy kisses to her rescuers and cuddling with them.

The rescuers believe that it won’t take too long for the dog to get adopted because of her sweet personality. After just a couple of weeks, the dog was finally adopted by a wonderful family who will never abandon her again. Here’s a great video of the rescue which also shows how a simple haircut and bath do wonders for a rescue dog.
