While Morgan McKenzie was walking around her home in Delaware, she heard some tiny screams. Upon checking, Morgan saw that the sound was from a gray and white kitten that was in a hollowed-out log. The little cat seemed to be alone, but Morgan decided to leave her there just in case her mother returned.
When the night time came, Morgan checked to see if the kitten had already left. That’s when she realized that the tiny animal, who seemed to be one or two days old, needed help. Morgan said that the kitten wouldn’t have survived if they didn’t rescue her.
The kitten had fleas all over her body, so Morgan brought her in and gave her a bath. She named her Polly after Polly Pocket. After the shower, Paxton, Morgan’s 12-year-old Lab, came in and met Polly. Paxton immediately fell in love with the kitten.
Whenever Polly finishes her bottle-feed, Paxton would clean her. Polly loved it because this was the very first parental act that she had ever experience. Because her eyes were still closed, Polly didn’t have an idea of how big her new friend was. She only knew that Paxton took care of her.
Morgan recalled how Polly would stand as still as possible. Then, when she hears Paxton’s footsteps, Polly would bolt over toward the direction where the sound came from. Five weeks later, Polly can finally see. By this time, the two animals have completely fallen in love.
According to Morgan, Polly doesn’t seem to know that she and Paxton are different. The two of them would cuddle, play, and eat together. They even groom each other too. Now Polly is already five months old. Paxton, on the other hand, is nearly 13.
The two of them have grown a little, but they remain the best pals. Polly has become more active, and even when she steals Paxton’s favorite toys, he still shows his infinite patience for the kitten.
