One good thing about dogs is that they recognize people’s kindness. Funnily enough, once they know that you’re kind, they will surely stick with you.
One employee of Subway in Portales, New Mexico, experienced this. After a full year of receiving nightly visits from a cute local dog, the said Subway employee decided to film the dog receiving her treats.
It was really cute and slightly heartwarming. It also showed that some humans out there were kind.
A dog who is a big Subway fan
In a video initially uploaded to TikTok, the dog could be seen standing outside Subway’s front door. She was actually waiting for her assortment of meat and cheese. Giovanni Luhman, the employee who uploaded the video, said that the stray dog had been coming to Subway nightly for the past year. He added they always fed her.
Giovanni said that they called the dog “Subway Sallie,” describing a clip where the adorable dog met Giovanni at the door while he placed some food on the ground for her.
Subway Sallie becomes viral online
Much to Giovanni’s surprise, the clip had already become massively viral. He found about it by the time he woke up in the morning. The clip was viewed over 10 million times. It was also reported that people were visiting the door in the hopes of getting a glimpse of the dog.
People on Twitter were reacting positively to the video. One passionate user said they would die for Subway Sally. The sandwich brand also recognized Subway Sally, tweeting that the pooch just made all of their dreams come true.
While Giovanni continued making videos about Sally, he explained that he could not adopt the dog, citing he already had cats at home. He wouldn’t want to take the dog to a shelter, as the nearest one had a high kill rate.
It was not clear, though, if Sally were really a stray dog. Some neighbors claimed that Sally had puppies, and she was staying at a nearby house.
