After a few hours of being born, Bucket the Cow was all ready to be put up in an auction. Luckily, Susan Klijenburg came to the rescue and brought the scared little calf to his new home.
Bringing home bucket
Susan had a soft spot for animals. She was determined to go to the local auction and save at least one that needed her.
The calves were the first ones to come out and right then Susan saw Bucket – the tiniest one that didn’t even look a day old. No one wanted to bid on him so Susan was able to take him home for ten dollars.
Susan felt sad for the little cow knowing she had just been taken away from his mother. Even with little to no knowledge on calves, she was ready to give Bucket a good life.
Best buddies
Susan looked at Bucket and knew that he needed a best friend. On his first morning there, Susan brought her dog Colton to Bucket but had put a fence between them. The two animals were curious of one another and sniffed each other out.
Afterwards, Susan gave them the chance to interact closer and the two just started walking and hanging out with one another. When Bucket decided to lay down, Colton would sit down with him.
For the first few days, the two animals were inseparable. They loved to play tag together constantly.
Bucket was starting to act much like a puppy dog. He was a big silly goofball and loved to run around.
Colton sometimes gets frisky and loves to play with Bucket’s ears. The cow doesn’t mind at all and never tries to push the dog away.
Bucket definitely deserves a life of nonstop play. He was luckily brought into th right place and found his forever best friend.
