When you’re a weatherman, you understand that you can’t predict what happens during a live report. Bob Barnard of Fox 5 knew this, but he was still surprised when a puppy crashed his live report.
Bob was covering the icy conditions in Northern Virginia, and he was doing a beautiful job of it. He showed viewers just how tough it was for people with cars to clear the snow from them.
A resident came up to him and offered $20 for him to clear his car of the snow. Bob good-naturedly took the offer and joked that he should start a company.
Suddenly, a puppy appeared out of nowhere. He was a very energetic one. He wagged his tail and went to say hi to Bob right away.
The surprised weatherman was pleased and promptly took the puppy in his arms to show him off to viewers. Bob’s colleague quipped that he should start two companies now; a snow clearing one and a dog one.
The puppy’s energy was all over the place, and fortunately, Bob had a firm hold. The pup looked good, and he was visibly happy to be with the weatherman. The pup gave the reporter kisses, and it made the whole thing more hilarious.
Bob was no longer just a reporter, he was a guardian and a snow-clearer. Talk about wearing many hats! His news pals in the studio joined in on the weather-turned-puppy event, and it was such a blast.
The puppy’s owner soon came for her dog, and Bob gave the pet over. What a day for television, eh? It was a rapid-fire situation where things quickly moved from blah to what-just-happened.
The pup sure got his 15-minutes of fame. We’re sure the TV station enjoyed soaring ratings for that day. Here’s to more in the future!
