Evelyn Sides, a four-year-old girl from Alabama, found herself in trouble after running too fast and losing her nanny in the process. She went missing for two days. But thankfully, she had the best protector because her loyal furry best friend was with her throughout her little misadventure in the woods.
Vadie, as she was affectionately called, was out with her nanny walking their beloved pet named Lucy. As an energetic and adventurous kid, Vadie ran off without care until she found herself in an unfamiliar area. Her nanny was beside herself with worry when her ward seemed to have just disappeared into the woods. Good thing, Lucy stuck with her human sister throughout the ordeal.
A search party was immediately organized, led by law enforcement with hundreds of volunteers. They combed the woods, thoroughly looking for a redhead girl about three feet tall, weighing at least 40 pounds, and wearing a blue-printed dress. They also looked out for a reddish-colored hound dog who might be accompanying her. Helicopters, horses, and drones were also utilized to make the search more efficient.
Sadly, they were not able to locate Vadie and Lucy that same night. However, they intensified their efforts, and on the second night, they luckily found the girl with her loyal furry friend. When the rescuers were about to approach them, Lucy immediately barked to reveal their location. The faithful dog really protected her sister, and rumors say that she saved Vadie twice from snakes.
Amanda Side, Vadie’s mom, was so grateful to everyone who helped in looking for her little girl. Vadie is admitted to a nearby hospital while Lucy is now at home, waiting for her best friend’s recovery. Amanda uploaded on Facebook a video of Vadie sharing her experience.
