No Dog Left Behind Minnesota rescued Sara, a loving Corgi who had been abandoned by her previous owners in a puppy farm for being a ‘bad’ mama dog. She was already pregnant when the rescue group took her in, and with the way she took care of her puppies, she proved her previous owners wrong. Stephanie Easley, No Dog Left Behind Minnesota volunteer, said that Sara had been a great mom to her puppies. A few days after rescuing Sara, they discovered another litter of puppies in an old building.
While they have already been bottle-fed, they might not be able to survive on their own as they were still very young and fragile. This was when the rescue volunteers thought of Sara. Easley was confident that the puppies could survive if they would be blended with Sara’s puppies as the rescue already had the knowledge and experience in dealing with this kind of situation.
With Sara’s motherly instinct, she would be an amazing surrogate mom to these puppies. The first thing that the rescuers did was to hand the newborn Pitbull puppies to Sara. They were confident that she would be able to nurture them together with her puppies. However, there were still doubts that this solution would work.
Surprisingly, Sara treated the puppies as her own as soon as she met them. She knew what to do, and the rescuers didn’t have to guide her. Sara did an excellent job of cleaning, nursing, and caring for the puppies. While her puppies are much bigger and older, she also fully accepted the Pitbull puppies.
Unfortunately, one of the four puppies didn’t make it as it was too weak, but the remaining puppies got bigger and healthier every day. Sara was the reason the orphaned puppies were able to survive. No Dog Left Behind Minnesota was also thankful for her kindness.
