A pit bull and hound mix named Rosabella is being hailed a Christmas miracle. Brianna Jensen, a volunteer with Ruff Start Rescue in Princeton, Minnesota, discovered the pup in a metal box in an alleyway on December 16, which is thought to be the coldest day of the year. That day, the temperature dropped to as low as four degrees Fahrenheit.
Rosabella was in a weak state when she arrived at the rescue. Jensen said that the pup would not have survived the intense cold had she not been found immediately.
Rosabella was thrown away like trash. She was surrounded by trash and other dirty, discarded things in the alleyway. She was also malnourished and dehydrated. It was a good thing that she was found immediately. Otherwise, she would not have lasted long in that condition.
Ruff Start posted about Rosabella on Facebook and described her as a resilient pup despite her swollen feet and lesions that proved she spent most of her life in a cage. They went on to say that she was only 19 pounds at the time when the ideal weight should be at least 45 pounds.
In their Facebook post, Ruff Start also included photos of Rosabella and asked if anyone would like to foster her. Jensen immediately leaped at the chance. Thanks to her, the pup has already fully recovered. In as early as two weeks, Rosabella gained 10 pounds with the help of a special diet.
According to Jensen, Rosabella is currently eating three meals a day and is fit and ready to be adopted. Jensen also observed how the puppy is a lot of joy to be around. She enjoys running around the yard and gets along well with the other dogs. For Jensen, Rosabella truly is the definition of a Christmas miracle.
